Monthly Contest
Each month, generally on the last Saturday, we have a friendly contest. This provides a fun way for everyone to share their skills and learn from each other. The theme for the contest is provided in our Calendar. Everyone present votes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in two groups (see below). While the votes are tallied, the work is critiqued by a guest artist. Winners receive a ribbon and alot of praise from their fellow artists.
Each participant is asked to pay $1 as an entry fee which we use to help pay our guest artist for providing the critiques.
Beginning in about May each year, we split the entries into two contest categories on the same topic. Previous Winners, for those who have won 1st or 2nd place since the beginning of the year, and the Open Division, for those who haven't won YET! There will be two sets of ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, providing more opportunities to win!
