To provide a fun way for everyone to share our skills and learn from each other, our Club has a friendly contest the last meeting of each month.

Monthly Contest
The theme for the contest is provided in our Calendar. Everyone present votes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. While the votes are tallied, the work is critiqued by a guest artist. Winners receive a ribbon and alot of praise from their fellow artists. From January through April all entries are considered together in one group. In May, participants are split into two groups, one for those who already won during the preceding months and another for those who have not won, YET! It is our hope that dividing the field will provide more opportunities to win and encourage more artists to participate in this fun and educational process.
Each participant is asked to pay $1 as an entry fee which we use to help pay our guest artist for providing the critiques.
Please be aware that the critiques are meant to help you learn and involve pointing out both the good and the less wonderful aspects of your painting. THE CRITIQUES ARE NOT INTENDED TO OFFEND IN ANY WAY. When areas that can be improved upon are revealed, please try to see this feedback as an opportunity. Consider the input as suggestions for what to practice and ways to improve your skills. Most of all, Have Fun!
